Our Animals

Daisy and Bear came into foster care together and are the absolute best of buddies!  They would like to move together to their new home.  They are very sensitive cats, which means their new owner will need to have lots of time and patience while they get adjusted to their new home.  Their forever home needs to be an adults-only home that has routine and structure so that they can settle in and enjoy life without worrying too much about many new changes or unexpected surprises!  A home with mild-mannered, gentle, older animals (dogs or cats) would be ok, otherwise they would be happy being the only furry friends in the house!    

The initial adjustment period may take some time, but it is well worth it because these two are both incredibly sweet and very, very loving cats.  Once they are comfortable in their new home, Daisy and Bear will play together often - wrestling and tag are two of their favorite games.  Once they are all tuckered out, they will usually settle in together for a quiet buddy-grooming session (Daisy is usually on the receiving end of this!) and sometimes will even fall asleep together like kittens!

Individually, Daisy is fairly laid back and loves to nap and window watch...unless you are laying on the couch or sitting around somewhere, in which case she really likes to just be with you.  She doesn't require a whole lot of petting (although she will take it if you want to give it!); more just seems to love touching, sitting on, or just being physically close to you.  She does like to play with her favorite toys in the evening and will do ANTHING for Temptations cat treats!
 
Bear is the more timid of the two, although once he is comfortable in the situation, he is also the one who will stir up some trouble!  He loves to play with Daisy and will usually be the instigator of their evening games.  He is incredibly affectionate and loves to cuddle and be petted.

Misty is a beautiful 7 year old spayed female cat. She has short hair and her coat is solid grey. Hiding under a box and waiting to pounce on a string as it comes by is her favourite game. When she isn't lounging in front of a sun beam, she loves to sit in your lap and soak up your love and affection. Misty has no fear of strangers in the house and will happily surf from lap to lap to lap. She runs to the door whenever the doorbell rings to see who has arrived and give them a proper greeting. A home without small children (now and in the future) is preferred for Misty and she must be adopted into a quiet home with no other animals (she is intimidated by other cats and dogs). Misty has been spayed, FIV/FeLV tested, dewormed, vaccinated and vet checked. She has had a dental cleaning and a blood panel done indicating that she is in perfect health.  Please contact NASAP about adopting Misty. She is patiently waiting for her forever home!

Hello, my name is Meow! I am a domestic short hair female kitten with a velvety black coat. I am looking for a new home with someone who will be patient and kind with me as I am a little shy until I get to know you. I was born to a stray mom, but thanks to the kind woman that saved me, I have been extremely well socialized. I have already been spayed and I am fully vaccinated. Sebastian is a beautiful cat who is also very friendly and very curious, and a bit chatty as well. Although his pictures don't really do him justice, he has the face, legs and tail of a tabby cat and the body of a Siamese - his colouration is striking! He is recovering well from his neuter and used his litter box immediately and also helped himself to snacks; clearly comfortable in his new surroundings. He spent some time investigating his room and seemed curious about every square inch of it. Check back here for more updates once Sebastian is out of quarantine. So far he is a lovely cat!

Kiki turned up in the yard of a NASAP volunteer last May. It was quickly determined that she was pregnant and she gave birth to 5 healthy kittens on June 14, 2009. Kiki was a wonderful mother and all her babies grew up big and strong. All of her kittens have been adopted now, but Kiki is still waiting patiently for her forever home. Kiki is a lovely, independent cat. She is happy sleeping in the sun or laying beside you on the couch. Kiki has been spayed, vaccinated, tattooed and microchipped.
