ADOPTION PENDING

Elbie is a delightful little dog who was found, believe it or not, on the Highway.   He is just a puppy and will grow to a small to medium size.   He is happy and playful and well socialised.  He is good in a crate but needs work on his housetraining.     He gets along great with other dogs of all shapes and sizes and is not intimidated.     A real treasure.

ADOPTION PENDING

Skipper is a beautiful dog, well behaved, obedient and eager to please his owner.     This breed of dog is smart and loyal and Skipper needs a home where he will be truly appreciated for his attributes and enjoyed to the full - he would be great at obedience, agility or just going for long walks.      He is spending his first few days in his foster home and we will have more to report about him very soon.

UPDATE 30 AUGUST

Just wanted to give you an update on Skipper.

We are loving him.  He is very energetic, loves to play with balls and toys and his recall is pretty good.  He chases our horses so would not be good as a pet on a horse/cattle property.

He also chases the cat, but gets along with all the dogs in the neighborhood.

He is good in the house but has marked several times - hopefully once he is neutered this will cease.  He will sleep in the kennel at night, but we just let him sleep in the living room now.  He is very quiet during the night.  He is quiet most of the time, unless he sees something and doesn't recognize it.

He stays close to the house, doesn't need to be tied up, although I leave him in the dog run when I am out.  He is very kissy and gets very excited when I get home.  He loves Bill as much as he loves me.   All in all a great dog for a family with an active lifestyle and the experience to keep his chasing instincts in check.

You can read about poor Hutch on our Special Cases page.   He will be up for adoption following his surgery.

Update 12 August
Hutch underwent surgery today and it was necessary to amputate his leg.   The injury was too old for the leg to be saved.    Hutch will do just fine on his three good legs and we expect him to make a full and quick recovery.      He will be back in his foster home by the weekend and taking visitors probably as early as next week if you would like to meet him.   Read more on our Special Cases page.

Update 20 August 2010

Hutch's incision is healing very well.    He continues to fit in in his foster home and is no trouble.    He will make someone a great companion dog - he loves to cuddle and enjoys a walk in the park.  If you have the right spot for Hutch in  your home and in your heart please come meet him.

ANY CONTRIBUTIONS TOWARDS THE COST OF HIS SURGERY WOULD BE MOST GRATEFULLY RECEIVED.
