Auzzie (formerly Kees)
|
Hello, just in case you were wondering how he has turned out, Auzzie is about knee-high, with loads of energy. Every one loves him, I knew they would. He still let's me pick him up sometimes and he and the cat are great buds. We've taken him camping and to the lake, he had loads of fun on the beach plays in the water, bites at the waves chases the ducks and barks at the deer. He is very very fast, and extremely agile. He can be off leash some of the time, he gets on well with dogs he meets providing every one else is off their leashes. When he is on his leash it's another story, stretches as far as it goes and gets pretty vocal. He's greets everyone at the door and that makes us all feel good. He stays when told, and down isn't mastered yet, but things are progressing as fast as we like it.

Sonic (formerly Sailor)
|
Hi my kids and I adopted Sailor more than two years ago. I wanted to update you on him and thank you for taking such good care of him for us. We changed his name to Sonic as soon as we got home and within two days, he was responding to his new name. Sonic is very smart and makes us laugh everyday. He is so funny and affectionate and a very well mannered boy. He gets along well with his brother Shadow and all of our friends' dogs who come to visit. We are so glad to have him and he is very happy with us since he has five teenagers, a brother and two cats to play with!!! I cannot believe that anyone would ever give him away, but we are so blessed that someone did. Sonic sleeps with whoever is in bed first and even likes to sleep under the blankets when it is cold! He is a very lucky boy, almost as lucky as we are to have him in our lives. Thank you again for taking care of him for us, we will forever be grateful. Janette PS here is a picture of Sonic and I out for a walk on the river valley trails in February.

Snax (formerly Mork)
|
Hello! It's the Russell family. We are happy to announce Snax (formerly known as Mork) is fitting in with our family perfectly. He follows us around the house and has mastered walking down the staircase as well as up. Which is fortunate for us because he's getting heavy. He's warming up to his crate and not crying as much when we leave him alone. He loves taking naps with us in the family room and playing with all his great toys. Snax is having less accidents in the house and loves our big back yard. He seems interested in the birds in the yard, especially the baby ducks. But he doesn't get too close, he seems to just enjoy watching. Snax is learning his new name and I have taught him how to sit. He has his first vet check this week and is getting better in the car. We love Snax and are so happy to have him in our family. Update June 30: Hey? The Russell family again. Just thought I would update Snax's progress. He has almost completely stoopped crying when left alone. He has gained almost eight pounds in the three weeks we have had him! He is very happy and enjoys chasing the birds in the yard. We love to have him around and he loves meeting all the people we have over to see him.

Patches (now Cinder)
|
Cinder is doing sooo good here in our home. She took immeditely to the kids and only a few days to establish rank with our other cat, Dante (she lost). It took a while longer for her to accept our Aussie dog, Dakotah, but now puts up with her antics. Dante and Cinder are close friends and hang out together all day and night. They share grooming duties and cuddle all the time! She is a very quiet, perfectly behaved little girl. She weighs almost 5 pounds now and is very long and lean with a fluffy tail. She had her spay this past week and did well with the surgery and post recovery. We named her Cinder (Cinderella) because her two sisters were so beautiful and perfect and Cinder was, well, not quite as "pretty". She also has these off "tufts" of hair behind her ears, kind of like a lizard. Also because of the black on her face, it was as though she had been rooting through the soot in the fireplace! Thank you for this wonderful addition to our family. Trina, Cole, Jaide, Dante and Dakotah!
p.s. our other cat, Dante, is featured in the picture. Dante is a big (13 lbs) fluffy boy and next to Cinder looks huge, but he is very gentle and patient with Cinder. Too cute!!

Petula
|
Petula is doing great. She was very shy and timid when she moved in, but she soon came out of her shell (although she still hides under the bed if someone new comes into the house). She is full of energy and is always talking and looking to play. She carries her favourite toy around and drops it at my feet to let me know that it is time to play. If I throw it, she will fetch it and bring it back to me! She's also very cuddly and purrs a lot. She is getting along well with Mia, my original cat. They seem to enjoy each other's company and chase each other all over (usually with Petula chasing Mia). I think Petula has grown a little and has gained a bit of weight since I adopted her, but she is still very petite. She is eating hypoallergenic cat food (duck is her favourite) and is no longer scratching her ears and neck. Overall, Petula has been a wonderful addition to my home - she is such a sweetie. Thank you so much for rescuing her!

Rutherford (now Comet)
|
don’t get many pictures of him being still. But I thought I’d send you an update to let you know that he is fitting perfectly into our family! He is the sweetest dog and is a pleasure to have around. Although he came with a pretty cool name that I really liked – we had a dog named Astro, and our 6 year old boy was adamant that he needed a space name to go with Astro… so his new name is Comet. At first it seemed to plain, but he’s bringing the personality to the name. He gets noticed everywhere we go for his rugged handsome good looks and his sweetie pie temperament. He loves playing with his two 2leggers and is very patient with them as they crawl all over him and occasionally try to ride him. He loves to play ball still, fetch and loves to play soccer with the family. He’s a great goalie. And tug of war is a new favorite of his. And he has just learned to swim and loves it. We think that he might actually be part fish. He’ll swim around in the deep water for almost an hour without any desire to touch land.
I have decided he is the perfect creature for me too in my house– because he’s a real momma’s boy (and I’m the momma) and it would seem that his only goal in life is “make momma happy” “get lots of lovin from momma” and it works! He is my little sucky baby snuggler, and loves to wrestle and play fight too. And his just so happy to see me, that he can hardly contain himself – oh wait, he doesn’t contain himself, he pees all over when he’s that excited. But he’s only 6 months… He forgets I’m not a dog sometimes… but our other dog Astro is quick to remind him that she wants in on the game playing too. He seems pretty happy here. His days are filled with good food, his dog-best friend, his children best friends, momma & daddy too. He’s getting to go swimming almost every day, lots of walks usually 2 a day and running too. It takes the running to get him so tired he drops on the floor as soon as he gets in the front door.
We are just so thankful to have him. And want to thank you for helping us find the right dog for our family. We adore him.

Rooh (formerly Alice)
|
Ashley, Rooh is a super kitty, she is sweet and like a little princess, if you cuddle too long she lets you know with a sweet meow! She's very gentle, loves Tigger to death, she creeps up behind him and jumps on his back then they roll and roll and play its quite a cute site to watch. I think tigger knows shes going to jump on him but he lets her anyways. when they eat they have seperate dishes and food, but tigger always waits for her to finish. hes a true gentleman. We love Rooh and have no idea how we lived without her!!!!!!! Jennee

Rascal (now Jasper)
|
Jasper (was Rascal) is a sweet baby and growing up into a wonderful cat. He is a big boy and has taken over ownership of the house. The other two cats,Jade (formerly Echo) and Willow are sisters and are also a great joy (I adopted them a couple of years ago from NASAP as well). Jade and Jasper have become best buddies and can often be seen hanging out together, wrestling or even sleeping together. Willow is a more solitary cat, enjoying her own company, yet even she will come out and play with Jasper, who has added a new dynamic to the household, much more playful. Jasper came through his surgery last Friday and has recovered quickly and is as playful as always and loves to cuddle on my lap or shoulder surf, tickling my ear. He enjoys his large playground and adores playing with his various toys in the kitchen where, because of the laminate flooring, he can slide across the floor, or bat his toys around and race after them as they slide a long distance across the floor. He is a jumper and will leap twice his length up in the air to catch the mouse on a string that I use to play with the three of them. He completely throws himself into playing and leaping and has landed several times on the other two cats! He is a boy and has no fear. he is a complete and utter joy. Thanks for helping out these wonderful lifelong companions who bring such delight to the lives of the people who adopt. Cheers.
