Hi there I wanted to send you guys an update on Maggie. We adopted her in August of last year and we are so happy that she is a part of our family. She has turned out to be a wonderful dog with such a funny personality. She keeps us laughing all the time. We recently adopted a little brother for her named Spooner(the husky pup in the pictures)who came from SCARS. They fell madly in love from first site and have a blast playing together. I want to say thanks again to Tessa for taking such good care of Maggie before us and also to say thank you to the whole organization for doing the good deeds that you do. It means so much to all of the animals and animal lovers out there.

Hi There. Thought I would just give you an update on Izzy (AKA 
Solo). She is doing great. We brought her to Canmore and she 
loves it here. She was so good on the way down. She  layed 
down on the back seat the whole way. We stopped twice to let her 
out for a pee and some exercise. 
  
She seems to love Canmore -lots of outside activities - lots of 
exercise. We took her to the vet today here and got her micro-
chipped. So we got the vet to check her over. She seems in great 
health. The vet thinks she is at least 8 months old as some of 
her teeth are in that don't come in until she is about 8 months. 
She was really good at the vets.
  
She sleeps really well and is really good in the house. She 
doesn't seem that keen on her kong so we bought her a kong with 
a rope attached and she loves that. Suppose to be like dental 
floss. She is getting good at retrieving. We got her a tennis 
ball and she retrieves quite well. Of course in Canmore - there 
are lots of places to take her. We have a deck that is on the 
second floor so she sits outside and watches the world go buy - 
rabbits, dogs, people.....There are domestic rabbits here all 
over the place - someone a long time ago let their rabbits out 
and they mutliplied, as rabbits do, and survive here. They are 
only in this part of town. She loves sitting on the deck 
watching them.
  
We are so pleased with her. And she seems to be bonding with us. 
She is truly a lovely dog. We are going back  to Edmonton 
on Monday - she will be back to doggie daycare on Tuesday. She 
was so tired after her last day there, that she came home and 
slept until we took her for her last walk at night. 
  
I hope you feel you have made the right decision about where to 
place her. I know that probably is never an easy decision.

Sorry it has been awhile since I last updated you about Hammer. 
Well what can I say, he is growing like a weed. We had him 
neutered about a month ago, and everything went fine. The vet 
and the technicians just fell in love with him. They thought he 
was just the cutest thing ever (we hear that wherever we go! hehehe).  We had him weighed last week, and he was 41lbs!!!!  He is getting so big!!!
We are on our 4th week of obedience class, and he is proving to 
be a challenge.  He does really good at home with all the 
skills, but once we get him around other dogs he just gets so 
excited and forgets what he is supposed to do:) None the less he 
is a pretty smart dog.  He is just so happy all the time!!! 
He loves to play and run around!!! 
Hammer loves going in the vehicles!!!! He and Jon have a 
weekend ritual of going to TimHortons. Hammer loves 
looking  out the window..he is pretty nosey!!! 
We are all looking forward to the spring and summer, so we can 
introduce him to swimming, and take him camping with us!!!

Jack and Nora are both doing wonderful.  Nora has pretty much adopted Jack and takes care of him like he's her kitten.  He's just had another growth spurt and is much bigger than her now.  Our other cat, Pickles, that we adopted from NASAP before Nora doesn't get along with either Nora or Jack, so we just keep them separated.  We have a system that works well for us, and they don't seem to mind it either.  Jack doesn't seem to mind our dogs, and Nora is starting to get along with them, she rarely hisses anymore.  But the dogs have also learned that they should just keep their distance and do their own thing.
 
Nora is a very active cat.  She loves to jump around and play.  And like I said, she love being Jack's 'pseudo-mommy'.  She loves bathing him, and he loves it even more.  We were worried Jack wouldn't be able to care for himself if Nora wasn't around, but we have since discovered that he does actually know how to bathe himself...he just prefers Nora do it for him.  Nora doesn't care for our other cat Pickles, which is unfortunate, but it's kind of neat to see how she protects Jack.  She has such a sweet disposition and she purrs the moment we pick her up.
 
Jack is still very shy and he hides a lot.  But he's definitely come out of his shell.  He has recently discovered how much he likes sleeping on our bed at night.  In the mornings he is our little alarm clock, walking all over us, purring and rubbing his head on our faces, making sure we know it's time to get his breakfast ready.  He has the cutest little voice...and because of it he'll stay our little kitten forever.  He's the sweetest little boy and wouldn't hurt a fly. 
 
We are so thankful we got such wonderful cats.  And we appreciate all the work NASAP and their volunteers do so that these precious animals are safe and get placed in good homes.

we couldn't be happier.  First of all we did change his name to Archie.  We were undecided but it stuck when our just turned 2 year old daughter could actually say it.  He is a very active and loving cat that has fit into our family very well.  I have had cats all my life and this one takes the cake.  I have never in my life witnessed a cat take to a very young child as much as Archie has.  They are playmates that are always together.  He is very gentle and has never left a mark on her.  He has never scratched or hissed in his life.  We love him very much.  Thank you for all that you do at NASAP.  I have attached a few photos of him now.  He is a beautiful boy whose blue eyes have turned green

Gecko is doing well ... in fact he is on my lap as I type this ... he has the run of the house ... digs in my plants and generally is a cat.  He loves to play when I point the laser pointer on the floor ... and sits in the bedroom every morning while I dress and meows until he has had some playtime.   We are very happy we have him ... thankyou for letting us take him home!
