Brody is a wonderful old golden retriever, who has had a hard life.He came to us as a stray from the Morinville Area. When we got this old boy home, we gave him the once over. It was not long into his once over that we found out that his testicles was hard like a golf ball. We were concerned that brody may have testicular cancer. It has been confirmed that Brody's tumor was both cancerous and non-cancerous. Continuing in his once over, we found numerous skin lesions and sores over is body, mainly on his legs, groin, and paws. He has some big skin problems, which he continually licks. These will meed to be treated with a hibatane and water wash a couple of times a week. When you call Brody, or ask him to sit or come, he does not respond. Leading us to believe that he is mostly deaf. As a result, he will have to be trained to respond by hand signals and hopefully a dog whistle. Brody was scheduled for his neuter and vet check the 24th of October.. While in for his vet check, it was also determined that Brody has Elbow Dysplasia, and arthritis in his hips and back legs. As a result, Brody will likly have to be on pain/anti-inflamitory medications and glucosamine for the rest of his life. The vet has also recommended that Brody be put on childrens Flintstone vitamins, one a day!!

Brody is a wonderful dog. He has a lot to give to his people. He loves his cookies and his rawhides. Brody tries to play with his foster brothers and sister, but is unable play for long to due to his elbow and hip problems. But with the treatment that the vet has recommended, Brody will be able to play and run with the best of them. He loves his pets and to be cuddled by his people. Since brody has been on the treatment that the vet has put him on, there has been great improvments in Brodys activity, movement, appitite, and overall attitude. Do you think that you could be the one to give Brody his retierment home?

If you are able to help Brody until he finds his forever home, donations would be greatly appreciated. Donations of glucosamine, Flintstone Vitamins, Metacam, and of course old fasioned money would be of great help to Brody. If you are able to help Brody please contact NASAP.
