Tigger and his brother Fluffy were given up by their owner of 10 years when she moved in with a man that did not want them in the home. They were temporarily taken in by a kind family, but they were very intimidated by the numerous resident dogs and cats already in the home. They spent the next year living in one bedroom with Fluffy rarely even leaving the closet where he felt safe. They were surrendered to NASAP in hopes that they would find loving new homes that better suited their needs. Their teeth had been horribly neglected. Tigger’s mouth was completely rotten and the veterinarian felt that he had likely been in constant and considerable pain for some time. He underwent immediate surgery to remove 6 teeth (including three canines!). Fluffy also hardly had any teeth left. His long coat was so badly matted that he required a complete body shave. The technician commented that it was the worst matting she had ever seen and it was very difficult to remove. Despite the stress of moving and pain due to dental disease and matting, Tigger and Fluffy were the sweetest, gentlest cats. Tigger’s foster parents quickly fell in love with him and adopted him. Fluffy has a lovely, quiet personality and loves to be petted and to lay on your chest. He likes to chase toy mice and balls like a big kitten. He was in care with NASAP for almost a full year and he has just recently found his forever home!
