Little Babs was found running on the Highway. She narrowly missed going under the wheels of more than one truck. Somebody stopped open their door and she jumped right in. Poor little mite is totally matted and has an old eye injury so that the eye is sealed shut. She will be going to the vet on Tuesday where she will be shaved and where her eye will be investigated. It may be that she will have to lose the eye but we will have to wait and see. She has an abscess on her lower belly also. Babs is scared but eating well and tolerating the attention being shown to her. She is withdrawn but wagged her tail for the first time this morning when she saw me, albeit briefly. Once she is all fixed up she will be available for adoption.
Update 10 Sept
Babs has now been shaved and had her eye treated. An infected cut on her lower eyelid was the cause of the problem. She will not lose the eye but is being treated with antibiotics. She has been spayed. If you think you can give Babs the home she needs please let us know.
