Annie

Annie was 18 months old when she escaped out the door of her NASAP foster home in Beaumont, Alberta on March 30, 2008. While several attempts were made to locate her including posters in the neighbourhood, an alert on the NASAP website and a petlynx report, there was no sign of her at all. It was like she had disappeared into thin air! We waited and hoped for a sign of her for the next TWO YEARS. Luckily she had been spayed and tattooed before she escaped, so we knew that there was a faint hope that she would someday be found and returned to NASAP. Amazingly, we just received word that Annie has been found!! Beaumont RCMP and animal control officers located Annie, still in Beaumont after all this time! She is in remarkably good shape despite being out in the elements for the past two years. She has a touch of frostbite on one ear, but overall she is in extremely good condition. We are so grateful to the officers that found Annie and took the time to trace her tattoo back to NASAP. Annie is now available for adoption and looking for an indoor-only forever home with no further outdoor adventures! Annie's story illustrates the importance of spaying and neutering and having up to date identification (collar and tags, tattoo and/or microchip) on all pet cats at all times, even if they live an indoor-only lifestyle.
