Barney is a very sweet boy who has had to overcome a lot in his young life. After being rescued from a terrible living situation and dealing with some medical issues, Barney is starting to learn that attention and humans are nice (and handy to have around!). He was recently diagnosed with a condition called feline eosinophilic granuloma which causes painful lesions on his paws. The condition has unknown causes but may have autoimmune or allergic properties. On the advice of his vet, we tried him on a course of steroid medication and hypoallergenic food and that has really helped control the outbreaks. Barney is quite a big boy for his age. Barney loves toy wands and small soft toys he can carry around. He is a good eater and always uses his litter box. Barney can still be quite timid and unsure of new people, however he is very gentle and sometimes just hides (but where he can still see you). Barney does best with other cats (he had no adjustment period when meeting 3 different cats at different times). He would love to go to a home with another friendly cat to companion. Barney needs an indoor only home where he can feel safe and blossom at his own pace. Inquire about Barney today!
