Hello my name is Goliath (aka Clifford). I was named Clifford by the people at NASAP when I was rescued but I had a migrated chip which told them my name is actually Goliath. I'm a 3.5 year old (DOB Dec 6, 2010), pure bred, CKC registered German Shepherd with impressive European blood lines. I was bred for work and temperament, not for show, and I'm considered a "sable with soft ears". I'm a very big guy who sometimes forgets his size but I am gentle and loving, especially if you are willing to pet me. I get along well with my foster family and their dog but would be just as happy in a home as the only dog hogging all of the love and attention. I have a crooked front left leg from an injury as a puppy. It has been examined by the specialists and deemed to be inoperable. I do have quite a bit of arthritis from that injury so I need a family who will help me manage that pain and make sure I stay slim and comfortable to enjoy life to the fullest. This also means that I need to be an indoor dog, especially during the colder winter months. I am on supplements to help my joints and have just started non steroidal pain medications, as needed, to help make me comfortable when I seem to be more bothered by it than usual. I am a very happy boy who loves to play and be with people. My favourite things are car rides, swimming and fetching balls from the water. I'm a bit too big for a crate but am house trained and not at all destructive when left to my own devices in the family home.
